This is a role for an individual looking to learn about the world of communications and hospitality. We are an agency looking for a new team member to work on our exciting campaigns following some great new business wins recently.

Tonic consists of a close-knit group of supportive individuals (who love working with restaurants, bars and hotels) and we pride ourselves on championing the successes of everyone at the agency; on learning and development; and the pursuit of excellence in our work. We work for the very best hospitality businesses in London and beyond, and if you’re interested in throwing yourself into a communications role with lots of scope for personal development and growth, we want to hear from you.

Culture at the agency is really important to us all, and we aim to create a space for growth through nurturing and shared experiences across the team, as well as a fun, convivial environment. Tonic is a small and personal agency run by founder Frances Cottrell-Duffield which has been operating for 11 years with the intention to work for and with the best individuals in the industry. The creativity and passion in hospitality is what drives us to do the best work possible for our clients and we enjoy contributing to titles and journalists we respect to help sculpt the media landscape. We are refined, optimistic and strategic thinkers here. We also get to eat out at some of the best restaurants in the capital as part of this work really regularly - either as research, to support a new opening, to take pictures, and to understand the market and competition for our clients.

The key areas of day-to-day work in this newly created role will be:

PR

Developing press releases and the distribution of those stories to a well-maintained press list. Each team member at Tonic works directly with all types of press and clients as part of a collegiate approach to communications. Good writing skills are essential here!

The successful candidate will demonstrate a love for food media and a desire to position our clients amongst the best titles on the market.

The successful individual will immerse themselves in the creativity of social media from content creation (within our clients’ venues) to relationship management and researching the best influencers for our clients to work with. They will manage the Tonic accounts one day per week, creating engaging content and building our audience.

The successful candidate will enjoy meeting new people, immersing themselves in hospitality and thrive in a fast-paced, social environment.

Administrative support

This role will support across the agency with administrative tasks, paying particular attention to reporting for clients on a monthly basis and logging and distributing achieved coverage.

In our hospitality work there’s a large volume of bookings that need to be managed monthly, so this role would also support in the administration of that, the management and follow-up to best maximise press relationships.
