The Standard, London, the city’s stylish destination for eating, drinking and letting loose, is set to reopen and with it a beautifully designed ground floor sun trap terrace on 11th July (coincidentally the hotel’s first birthday too), along the entire length of the hotel. This space will be joined by the reopening of the neighbourhood’s casual drinking and dining spot, Double Standard, and for the first time, will be taking reservations*.

Open Wednesdays through to Sundays, Double Standard, the bar and restaurant from Chef Adam Rawson, will reopen its existing 70s-inspired indoor bar and dining area alongside a stylish new outdoor terrace space with a relaxed vibe, perfect for leisurely afternoon drinks in the sun or a sultry alfresco dinner with friends. With The Standard’s unique touch, the terrace has been beautifully designed to wrap around the side of the building, providing a casual space for sun-soaked drinking and dining.

Food and drink will double down into the setting with slushy Aperol spritzes and bottled Paloma cocktails joining the drinks menu - and as of this summer will also feature a fun vending machine supplying Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut minis. Chef Adam Rawson has extended his hearty dive bar menu to include summer inspired dishes such as the southern fried cauliflower and jalapeno slaw, to sit alongside a snappy menu of his famed burger, addictive fried chicken bites and hot dogs (with a playful new hot dog and champagne pairing). It’s the post lockdown menu you deserve. The stand-alone bar, serving indoors and on the outdoor terrace til 10pm, will serve craft beers, frozen and bottled cocktails and wine.

On Sundays from 12pm to 5pm, Double Standard will also offer a bottomless brunch with twists on Double Standard's menu staples, including the Brunch Dog with crispy bacon, pickle sauce & onion and Brunch Burger with Bloody Mary ketchup, bacon & smoked cheddar. Those looking for a lighter option are well catered for with vegan Banana pancakes with maple syrup & berries or Avocado on toast. Guests can combine one dish from the menu with bottomless Bloody Marys or prosecco for just £30.

The Standard will also be reopening hotel rooms this summer, alongside hotel suites for those looking for their own self-contained spaces, with bookings now open for stays from 7th August. Guests can host their own socially-distanced dinner parties on the 8th floor suites, with food from Chef Adam Rawson, a private bartender, indoor and alfresco dining areas and private outdoor terraces with unrivalled views of the city. Bookings are now being taken, alongside bookings for The Standard’s now more affordable 8th floor Junior Suite Terraces, fully equipped with outdoor dining and al fresco bathtubs, perfect for a special occasion (or for guests needing a night away from their own four walls).

In preparation for the reopening, The Standard has implemented extensive health and safety measures to protect customers. Please see HERE for a full breakdown of health and safety measures that will be in place, in line with Government guidelines.

Remaining sections of the hotel will reopen in due course - further announcements to come.
