Wildflowers, a neighbourhood restaurant from chef Aaron Potter and interior stylist Laura Hart will open in Belgravia on Friday 27th September. Inspired by the warm, relaxed dining culture of the Mediterranean, Wildflowers will focus on seasonality, serving elegant yet uncomplicated dishes and European wines in a stylish and laid-back setting.
Situated in Newson’s Yard, behind the bustling Pimlico Road, the 54 cover restaurant will be a bright space, elegantly decorated with unique pieces of vintage furniture, under the creative direction of Laura, who’s background is in high-end interiors.
The menu, created by Aaron (previously Trinity and Elystan Street) ensures generous, convivial dining and warm hospitality are at the forefront, highlighting vibrant flavours and hyper-seasonal ingredients from trusted suppliers. Dishes will include:
Moules farcies, garlic & parsley butter
*
Lamb tartare, Wildflower harissa & labneh
*
Langoustine & scallop crudo, chilli, fennel & Honest Toil olive oil
*
Fresh sheep’s ricotta, grilled courgettes, burnt honey & fig leaf olive oil
*
Grilled red mullet, Puttanesca butter & Amalfi lemon
*
Borlotti beans al forno, bull’s horn peppers, artichokes & salsa verde
*
Basque cider house steak for two, smoked bone marrow piperade
*
Fig leaf & cherry ripple choux a la creme
*
Chocolate praline gateaux, hazelnut milk gelato
Upstairs will be an intimate wine bar, reminiscent of the cicchetti and pintxos bars of Italy and Spain, with cocktails such as Melon negroni, Amalfi spritz and Peschiole dirty martini, alongside a selection of vermouths, amaros and a list of European wines, including Wildflowers’ own wine on tap.
Wildflowers will be in keeping with the surrounding environment of Newson’s Yard, reflecting the craft, creativity and style of its neighbours, as well as the architecture of the building (designed by Stiff and Trevillion) and its rich history as a Timber Yard. A warm and welcoming ambiance has been created by Studio Found, a London-based hospitality design studio, in close collaboration with Aaron and Laura. Through textured wall finishes, warm timber tones, muted pastel colours, and classic finishes to provide depth, the interior offers a paired-back feel. Much of the furniture throughout the space has been sustainability sourced, featuring unique, vintage pieces wherever possible. With open fire cooking at the heart of this new venue, an open pass designed by Studio Found provides an intimate connection between the chefs and the diners. In addition to the main restaurant is a private dining room seating up to 12 guests (with special feasting menus available) and an additional 26 covers on the Courtyard Terrace.
Seasonality will be at the heart of Wildflowers, from the regularly changing restaurant menu to the flowers filling the space and produce from the in-house deli. Daily pastries and sandwiches (available to eat on the terrace or to take away) will sit alongside a concise selection of provisions at the deli including Honest Toil olive oil, house-baked focaccia and charcuterie.
Wildflowers will open to the public on Friday 27th September 2024. Reservations from the 27th onwards are now available HERE.
