Opening on 3rd July, The Ninth At Home features some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, which Jun has adapted to ensure they travel well. The menu includes flamed mackerel with capers, kohlrabi and sea purslane (£12); chargrilled veal chop with smoked aubergine caviar, olives and datterini tomatoes (£30); those addictive crispy belle de fontenay potatoes (£7) and, of course, Jun’s signature pain perdu (£10). Guests happy to leave their menu choice in the hands of the professionals can order a menu for two (at £70 or £120) which is a composition of The Ninth’s signature dishes and offers a perfectly balanced and indulgent restaurant-like meal at home.

The menu also features an indulgent truffle pasta kit (another The Ninth classic) for those looking for some lockdown luxury in their own kitchens. The kit includes freshly made Conchiglie pasta, 10g of Australian winter truffle, truffle veloute, egg yolk and parmesan (£38).
There will also be a new lunch menu of fresh and vibrant dishes available for collection and local delivery with at least one meat, one fish and one vegetarian dish available daily. Crispy chicken salad with smoked bacon, pickled onion, baby gem, crushed potato and parmesan dressing; and chargrilled tenderstem broccoli with roast aubergine, poached egg, pickled radish and miso dressing (all priced at £15) are just some of the dishes available. The pain perdu will also be available at lunchtime for the ultimate picnic treat (£10).

"We can’t wait to be back in the kitchen cooking for our guests again. Whilst in lockdown, we’ve been busy developing our takeaway offering, which is something completely new to us! Finally, we’ve got a menu we’re super happy with and we can’t wait to share it with everyone. We are confident we’ve taken the necessary measures to ensure the safety of our staff and guests. Needless to say, we’re looking forward to opening for restaurant dining in the not-too-distant future, but in the meantime, I hope The Ninth At Home makes for an enjoyable and well-deserved treat for some of our loyal customers, and hopefully some new ones too", Jun Tanaka.

For those looking to complete their The Ninth dining experience, the restaurant’s entire wine list will also be available for delivery and wines start from £29
Jun Tanaka opened The Ninth on Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, in November 2015. Ordinarily it serves simple yet refined Mediterranean-style cooking all designed for sharing. Within a year of opening, The Ninth gained its first Michelin star and much critical acclaim from the likes of Jay Rayner (The Guardian), who said "For great food, service, price and surroundings, Jun Tanaka’s latest venture ticks every box" and Grace Dent (The Evening Standard), who declared it "some of the best food I’ve eaten this year", and Tim Hayward (The Financial Times), “The food at The Ninth can not be faulted”.
