Two minutes with Templar co-founders Lee Glen and Ian Goodman

What can people expect from a day in Stratford Cross followed by a meal at Templar?

The area has it all, you can start with a relaxed walk through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park along the river Lea surrounded by wildlife and native wild plants and flowers ... or a not so relaxed trip through Westfield for all your shopping needs. Or opt to watch a film at the Everyman next door before joining us for some great seasonal foods with lots of wines by the glass, all set in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

In three words, how would you describe Richard's cooking?

Seasonal, creative, classical and elegant (sorry, that's four!)

What drew you to Italian modernism as an inspiration for Templar, and how can these influences be seen?

It's clean and stylish, and is not something you see commonly in London. We used Italian modernism as a starting point, and worked with our design team at Block 1 to give it a modern interpretation. The dining room features a terrazzo floor made of reclaimed building material, vintage lighting from the 1950s, signature blue accents and burgundy seating, echoing the period.
