What makes a stay at Templeton Garden truly special?

It’s the feeling you get the moment you arrive. Guests and locals tell us all the time how calm the space feels, almost immediately. There’s a softness to it, a sense of ease that settles in as soon as you step inside. Then there’s the garden. It’s quietly spectacular. Large, leafy, and completely unexpected, it sits at the heart of the hotel and changes how the whole place breathes. It’s a peaceful retreat where contemporary design meets a very English sense of elegance, and it feels local, welcoming, and lived in.

How does Sprout push the boundaries of what a neighbourhood bar can be?

It starts with the menu. A Red Onion Manhattan. An Anchovy Gimlet. A Tomato Collins. Playful drinks built from humble, high-quality ingredients. Our Bar Director, Will Meredith, created the menu using a keystone cocktail approach. Each drink is centred on one defining idea, a colour, an ingredient, or a garnish, giving it a clear point of view. Then there's the feeling of Sprout - cosy, low lit, and intimate. Not many people can say they have a place like this at the end of their street.

Templeton Garden takes inspiration from its literary roots with the area having been home to Beatrix Potter. In the library, what can guests expect to find on the shelves?

This part of London has long attracted creative minds. Beatrix Potter, Alfred Hitchcock and Agatha Christie all lived nearby, and that legacy shaped how we approached the library. The shelves hold a considered mix of fiction and non fiction, designed as a quiet place to get lost in a good book. From time to time, we invite people whose taste we admire to curate a shelf. Most recently, we worked with Raven Smith, best-selling author and American Vogue columnist, on a personal edit of summer reads.
