Can you tell us more about ‘The Black Book’ itself?

Gearoid: The Black Book is our little Soho secret. It’s a book for wine lovers to find gems at good prices and with a fraction of a mark up you’d find at other sites.


Since you hold a late license in the heart of Soho, what can guests visiting after 11pm expect at The Black Book?

Xavier: Guests can expect somewhere with good vibes and great bottles. All served proper glassware, and in a room where you can actually talk, with music that just sits in the background. Hard to find in Soho when the clocks move later into the evening.


What dish off the new menu are you excited to pair with your ever-changing by the glass list?

Gearoid: I would have to say I’m most excited to pair something with our new secret off menu burger, make sure you ask about it when you come in. I’d match it with a glass of Gevrey-Chambertin from Domaine Henri Magnien. Specifically the 2023 vintage. Hard to beat a burger and some good red Burgundy.


If you aren't a wine lover what cocktail would you recommend people to try?

Xavier: I’d have to recommend the Rosemary Smoke. It’s a mix of amara mezcal, Chartreuse, lime, honey and of course rosemary.
