On 1st September, Chet’s – the Thai-Americana diner at The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush – will launch a month-long, transatlantic collaboration with celebrated Los Angeles streetwear brand The Hundreds. The Hoxton, Downtown LA and The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush have joined forces with The Hundreds and Night+Market – the cult Los Angeles Thai restaurant from Chet’s concept chef Kris Yembangroong – to create a bespoke diner-style menu with malted shakes from Johnnie Walker, as well as a capsule clothing and merch collection.
The collaboration celebrates the diverse and arts-fuelled culture of Los Angeles through the lens of its streetwear and food scenes. Founded in 2003 by Bobby Kim and Ben Shanassafar, The Hundreds is a world-renowned streetwear brand hailing from Los Angeles. Celebrated for its collaborative, community-focused ethos, The Hundreds produces apparel that channels classic California workwear in style, combined with the spirit and artistry of Los Angeles subcultures, from skaters to musicians.
Throughout September, diners at Chet’s, The Hoxton, Downtown LA and Night+Market will be able to tuck into The Hundreds Stacked (£18), an LA-style smashburger packing in two 4oz patties, American cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce, pickles and chopped grilled and white onions, designed by the team at The Hundreds with an aromatic Johnnie Walker-infused burger sauce from the Chet’s team. From the Night+Market team, the Khao Soi Queso Loaded Fries (£8) with Thai curry sauce, herbs and pickled chilli, combine the Los Angeles food scene’s love of classic diner comfort food and fragrant Thai flavours.
Diners can indulge in a trio of malted shakes (all £10), including the rich and decadent Banana Blvd (banana, pecan, Johnnie Walker Black and vanilla), the tropical, creamy Pineapple Cruiser (Pineapple, milk chocolate, coconut and Johnnie Walker Gold), and the punchy, bittersweet Smokin’ Cherry (Cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, Johnnie Walker), which will join the menu later in the month.
Available exclusively at The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush and The Hoxton, Downtown LA, guests can also get their hands on Chet’s x The Hundreds streetwear collection. With designs channeling the nostalgia of 90s diner culture, the collection includes graphic t-shirts emblazoned with retro milkshakes (£45), as well as exclusive merch including diner mugs (£25) and a custom skate deck, available in very limited numbers for £90.
Chet’s opened at The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush in December 2022, bringing an all-day, LA Thai-influenced menu to London, developed by celebrated Night + Market chef Kris Yembangroong. Chet’s’ bold-flavoured, playful menu fuses together the fragrant flavours of Thai cooking with the classic comforts of an American diner, from signature breakfasts to late-night cocktails and spiced-up snacks.
Chet’s x The Hundreds collaboration runs 1st-30th September. The menu will be available at The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush, The Hoxton, Downtown LA, and Night+Market, while merch will be available at The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush and The Hoxton, Downtown LA.
