This month The Standard, London welcomes the return of Isla, its critically acclaimed ground floor restaurant. Isla rejoins the ground floor’s Double Standard and terrace, as well as 10th floor restaurant Decimo and its rooftop bar.
The newly-presented menu will serve small sharers such as Beetroot, berries, kefir; Scallop XO; Mussels, ‘Nduja and Sweet potatoes, aged feta and sesame. These come followed by larger plates such as Whole lemon sole with seaweed butter; Chicken supreme, chicken sauce; Miso aubergine; Beef sirloin (to share), and Ikejime trout with salsa verde.
Desserts include Brown butter ice cream with berries; Purin and Tahitian vanilla, and Poached Pineapple, bread ice cream.
The menu draws international inspiration, with a focus on seafood and light, flavourful dishes (much of the menu is vegetarian, and vegan on request too) with menus changing seasonally.
Integrated within the lobby and The Library Lounge, Isla is a laid-back, elegant dining space brought to life by The Standard’s long-term collaborator, Shawn Hausman Design. The restaurant gently spills out to the landscaped garden terrace, ideal for a secluded bite to eat nestled amongst a residential area of Kings Cross, whilst a retractable awning, allows guests time to bask in the summer sun or providing welcome shade on hotter days.
Isla’s wine list is a broad selection of minimal intervention wines, being both explorative but accessible. Cocktails will feature a range of both non-alcoholic, juice driven and fermented for a healthier option and also a range of signature cocktails with a focus on fresh, citrus and fruit flavour profiles.
Isla will fully open to the public from 30th September, with bookings now live HERE.
Isla will be open 7 days per week for dinner service from 5pm until late.
