This month, Hackney Bridge, the canal-side eating and drinking venue, fully opens to the public, bringing one of London’s biggest beer gardens to the East London neighbourhood.
Hackney Bridge, from the team behind Vinegar Yard, spans the size of three football pitches and sits adjacent to Hackney Wick canal. It is the group’s largest development to date and is home to large landscaped gardens; long tables for al fresco drinking and dining and an outdoor bar with street food from Hackney Bridge’s independent traders.
The outdoor space will be host to an extensive cultural programme over the summer months, including BBQ pop-ups from local restaurants and chefs and live music events. It will host one of the largest outdoor cinemas in East London, with film screenings scheduled throughout the summer. During the day, sporting events including Wimbledon and The Ashes will also be shown. Late into the evening revellers are able to move into the site’s late-night bar, to drink and dance to a rotating lineup of local DJs each weekend.
Hackney Bridge’s street-food traders include Filipino barbecue from Filigrilz; NYC style burgers from Bovine Burger; Neapolitan pizza from Made in Puglia and South Indian street food from Tamila - as well as drinks from local brands including on-site microbrewery Mammoth Beer.
Every Sunday, Hackney Bridge houses a vintage and makers market, curated by Flea London and the team behind Broadway Market. Guests can peruse a selection of vintage and handcrafted goods from independent brands, as well as fresh produce from locally sourced suppliers.
The venue is committed to positively benefitting the Hackney community, working with local initiatives to help the area thrive and offers a number 0f free, public amenities, such as a basketball court, a community garden and an allotment, which will provide produce to the resident food traders.
Hackney Bridge is open 7 days a week, early until late (dependent on events programming).
