This November, Brilliant Corners - the Dalston bar and restaurant - will celebrate its 10th Birthday with a series of parties featuring guest DJs, Japanese izakaya-inspired menus and specially curated wine lists including rare bottles from its favourite producers. Throughout the month, the programme of events will form an all-out celebration of the pioneering venue’s first decade.

Brilliant Corners first opened in 2013, and was the first dining venue in London to permanently feature an audiophile sound system. Since then, it has become renowned for its vinyl-only DJ line-ups, Japanese inspired food and cocktails, as well as a trailblazing natural wine selection. The venue sparked a global trend in hi-fi bars which bring together high-end audio systems and quality food and drinks offerings, and similar concepts have now opened in most major cities across the world. Now revered as an institution in London’s music scene, Brilliant Corners has hosted DJ sets from the likes of Floating Points, Four Tet, Hunee and Ron Trent, album launch events for artists such as FKA Twigs and Kamasi Washington, as well as regular live performances from Shabaka Hutchings, Tom Skinner, Dave Okumu & Tom Herbert.

On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th November, Brilliant Corners will mark the 10th anniversary of the venue’s opening with two consecutive parties using its GIANT STEPS sound system at The Baths, Hackney Wick. A line-up of much-loved DJs that Brilliant Corners have hosted over the past decade will be playing on their expanded travelling sound system, which comprises six 10ft high stacks of speakers containing custom integrated and rare analogue hi-fi components, driven by high-end amplifiers and setup for vinyl playback only. The Brilliant Corners bar team will also be offering a host of wines best consumed on the dancefloor, as well as ti-punch and traditional mezcal.

On Saturday 18th November, celebrations will continue with a house party at Brilliant Corners itself, at 470 - 472 Kingsland Road. Rounding off a series of ten late-night parties hosted by the venue this year, Brilliant Corners’ co-founders Amit and Aneesh Patel will follow in the footsteps of Orpheu the Wizard, Luke Una and Antal to play a selection of their favourite records until the early hours.

Guests dining in the restaurant’s low-lit, atmospheric dining room will be able to enjoy its famed, izakaya-inspired Japanese food through a 5-course set menu featuring yellowtail sashimi as well as salmon tartare with ponzu, tobiko and chive and tuna maki with cucumber, spring onion and itogaki. To pair with the menu a selection of Brilliant Corners’ most sought after bottles will be pulled out from its extensive wine cellar in celebration, including those, among others, from Jean-Francois Ganevat, Domaine Labet, and Dard & Ribo. All of these hard-to-find wines will be available to guests at heavily discounted prices. After dinner, the tables will part to make way for a dance floor as guests enjoy the sounds of Amit and Aneesh’s musical selections. For those unable to make it to the house party, the 10th Birthday wine list (curated by its Head of Wine, Daniel Jeffs) will also be available to diners eating at Brilliant Corners throughout the month.

Every Saturday in November, between 5pm and 8pm, some of Brilliant Corners’ best-loved guest DJs will also be taking over Idle Moments, the group’s Columbia Road music and wine shop, playing records from their personal collections which will be available for sale. To ease guests into the celebrations, a selection of large-format wines will be available by the glass, including magnums of Les Bottes Rouges ‘Tôt out Tard’ Ploussard 2020 and Benoit Courault, Les Tabeneaux 2021.

Brilliant Corners’ 10th Birthday party at The Baths, Hackney Wick will take place from 6pm-4am on Saturday 11th November, and 6pm-11pm on Sunday 12th November. Tickets are available to purchase HERE (11th - starting at £10) and HERE (12th - starting at £7).
